Meredith Shuler

ST. MARYS, Georgia: July 21, 2022 – In these trying times, remaining cheerful can be a challenge, especially when you work in health care. Even so, Meredith Shuler, a nine-year Southeast Georgia Health System team member, has not missed a beat or an opportunity to smile throughout the pandemic. Her sunny personality has shone hospital-wide and is appreciated by team members even outside her practice

“There’s not a single time I’ve seen Meredith that she hasn’t greeted someone who passes by and given them a welcoming smile,” says Sharra Schewee-Blair, practice manager, Southeast Georgia Physician Associates. “She’s an all-around bright light at our Camden Campus who seems to lift up everyone around her!”

Shuler works as a department support coordinator at Summit Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Surgery, providing excellent in-person organization to their very busy Camden Campus location. For Donna Lewis, manager, Southeast Georgia Physician Associates, Shuler is more than just a team member. She’s a blessing.

“Meredith is an asset to our patients, our team, our practice and the Health System,” Lewis says. “She exhibits all the qualities of a team player and keeps the best interest of patients as her top priority.”

A Camden County native, Shuler became a certified nursing assistant while still in high school and has worked in the medical field ever since. Currently, she’s studying to earn a bachelor’s degree in psychology. In addition to her dedication to career and education, family remains at the top of her priority list. Her nine years at the Health System has seen her through many a personal milestone, including getting married to her husband, Jamie Shuler, welcoming a stepdaughter, Maggie, and adopting a dog, Sadie Ann.

“Being a wife and mother is my proudest accomplishment,” says Shuler. “I’m blessed with a beautiful family. I have the best husband in the world, and my daughter has overcome so many obstacles. I’m so proud to help her in this journey; she’s my little shining star.”

When she isn’t greasing the wheels at Summit Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Surgery to ensure the Camden Campus location runs smoothly, you might find Shuler enjoying the local beaches with her

family. “I love the sun and sand,” Shuler says. “Spending time in nature helps balance the demands of a career in health care.”

Maintaining a glass-half-full outlook on life has never been more difficult than in the last two years. Despite working on the front lines during a pandemic, Shuler has remained positive and steadfast to the Health System, her coworkers and patients.

“She’s consistently outgoing and thinks of others,” says Schewee-Blair. Lewis agrees, commenting, “She has a great personality.”

While her manager and fellow team members sing her praises, the ever-modest Shuler says a power greater than herself helps her remain upbeat. “I’m thankful for God’s grace and love – without Him, I am nothing.”
