St. Marys Haunted History Tour

October 29 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Some of St. Marys’ most chilling and historical figures will be out and about again on October 29 as St. Marys Little Theatre (SMLT) presents its 12th Annual Haunted History Tour. This year’s line-up features haunting storytellers stationed in period costume around eight venues in downtown St. Marys. Venues include the historic Oak Grove Cemetery, Orange Hall, and the Goodbread House, among others.
Many people will be charmed by the goat man who is back by popular demand. Visiting Witches from Salem, Thomas Carnegie, a Civil War Soldier, the Resurrection Angel and a pirate, plus others, will regale spectators with tales from beyond the grave creatively connected to St. Marys’ history.
New portrayals of other characters to be featured on the Haunted History Tour include Madam DD Whatnot, a soothsayer and descendent of the Cumberland Island slaves.
Melding legends of local spirits with authentic historical events, professional and amateur storytellers will hold court beginning at 6 pm on October 29. Golf carts will be utilized for those who prefer not to walk the 6-block tour. Upon purchase of a ticket, guests can pick up a map of the tour at Once Upon a Bookseller or St. Marys Welcome Center, and they can begin the tour at any of the eight venues.
Tickets for the tour can be purchased in advance at Once Upon a Bookseller and the St. Marys Welcome Center in downtown St. Marys (cash or check please), or online at StMarysLittleTheatre.com. Advance tickets are $8 and $10 on the day of the event. Groups of 20 or more can get a $2 discount for each ticket. For more information, call 954-290-9873.
