BRUNSWICK, Georgia: March 28, 2022 – Southeast Georgia Health System is pleased to welcome Cynthia Gamache, DBA, RN, NEA-BC, as its new chief nursing officer, effective May 9, 2022.

Gamache has more than 20 years of experience in progressive nursing leadership and administrative roles and 16 years of clinical experience at the bedside. Most recently, she served as the system chief nursing officer and vice president at Baptist Hospitals, Inc., in Pensacola, Florida, where she was accountable for the strategic/operational direction of nursing practices and clinical excellence for three hospitals, including a 492-bed trauma center. She also played an integral role in developing patient safety initiatives and clinical education programs and was instrumental in launching multiple advisory and recognition programs. Prior to Baptist Hospitals Inc., Gamache served as the chief clinical officer for Central Florida Health Alliance in Leesburg, Florida, and chief nursing officer of St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

Gamache holds a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Connecticut in Storrs, Connecticut; a master’s degree in Organizational Administration from MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas, and a doctorate in Business Administration from Northcentral University in Arizona. Additionally, Gamache has achieved certification as Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. Lean is a nationally recognized methodology for setting industry standards and best practices for workforce development and continuous process improvement.

Gamache’s areas of responsibility at Southeast Georgia Health System will include medical/surgical patient care and intensive care units, coronary care and progressive coronary care units, post-anesthesia care units, inpatient and outpatient surgical services, outpatient endoscopy center, pediatrics, dialysis, inpatient wound care, diabetes education, pharmacy services, women and maternity care services, and the Emergency Care Centers.
